Fix missing pages and access errors
What you can see in Flex CMMS depends on your role and the facilities you’re assigned to. Find what you’re seeing below.
A sidebar item is missing
Section titled “A sidebar item is missing”Your role decides which items appear in the sidebar:
| Sidebar item | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Everyone |
| Work Orders | Everyone |
| Users | Admin |
| Facilities | Admin, Manager |
| Finance | Admin, Manager |
| Settings | Everyone |
| Help & Docs | Everyone |
If you open a link to a page your role can’t use, Flex CMMS takes you to the Dashboard without showing an error.
If you need a different role, ask your company’s Admin. See Roles and permissions.
No Facilities Available
Section titled “No Facilities Available”You’ll see this on the Work Orders page:
You do not have access to any facilities. Please contact an administrator to get assigned to a facility.
The facility switcher at the top of the sidebar also shows No facilities are assigned to you.
You can only use a facility if you’re assigned to it or you created it. This applies to every role, including Admin.
Ask your company’s Admin, or a Manager at that facility, to add you with Assign Users. Once they have, open the facility switcher and select Refresh Facilities. If you don’t know who to ask, email support@flexcmms.com.
No Facility Selected
Section titled “No Facility Selected”Please select a facility from the facility switcher to view work orders.
Open the facility switcher at the top of the sidebar and select a facility.
A work order is missing
Section titled “A work order is missing”The Work Orders page only shows one facility at a time.
- Check the facility switcher. The work order may be at a different facility.
- Clear any filters on the page.
- If a notification sent you here, look under the notification in the bell to see which facility it’s from.
If you don’t have access to the work order’s facility, you won’t see the work order. See No Facilities Available for how to get added.
You can’t change a work order
Section titled “You can’t change a work order”If a work order opens but you can’t edit it, the message at the top explains why.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| You have view-only access to work orders. | You’re a Viewer. Viewers can read work orders, but can’t create or change them or add notes and attachments. |
| This work order is closed and locked. No changes can be made. | The facility locks closed work orders. See Completion rules. |
Unauthorized Access page
Section titled “Unauthorized Access page”You’ll see Unauthorized Access and this message:
You don’t have permission to perform this action
This page appears when you open an account approval link that isn’t meant for you, such as one forwarded from someone else. Nothing has changed on your account. Select Go to Dashboard to carry on.
